Clarissa, wife of a diplomat, is given to
daydreaming of adventure but she discovers a body in her drawing room, she
finds live drama much harder to cope with. Desperate to dispose of the body
before her husband arrives with an important politician, she persuades her
three house guests to become accessories and accomplices. The dead man was
known to certain members of the house party and mayhem ensues as they try to
persuade wry detective Inspector Lord that there has been no murder at all..
WTG
presents Spider's Web by Agatha Christie - a conscious parody of the detective
thriller, in which Christie delivers a unique blend of suspense and humour.
There is tension and laughter in equal parts in an intricate plot of murder, police, drug
addicts, invisible ink, hidden doorways and secret drawers.
Windsor Theatre Guild is Windsor's leading not-for-profit theatre company,
staging three productions a year, along with drama skills workshops and play
readings. Recent productions include The Good Life, The Lady in the Van, Alice,
Antigone, an outdoor staging of The Merry Wives of Windsor and, in November, a
sell-out run of A Christmas Carol.
Membership is open to everyone and we're all
volunteers with a wide array of experiences and backgrounds. As well as roles
for amateur actors, each play needs a team to take on or learn stage
management, publicity, costuming, technical design and set building. There are
always opportunities for anyone to get involved onstage, backstage, or front of
house. We also offer drama skills training workshops. WTG runs regular social
events including quizzes, parties, pub evenings and visits to shows. If you're
looking for new activities and friends with an interest in the arts, you will
be very welcome.
Founded in 1939, WTG is a registered charity and our purpose
has always been to promote interest in all aspects of the performing arts. We now have over 70 members and if you'd like
to find out more about membership, take a look at our website www.windsortheatreguild.co.uk.
